Production meetings and production log

Thursday 7th March 2013

During the two hours of this day our group (Me, Hennah, Gift and Daniel) came up with our own individual idea, which we needed to project to the group. Once we had thought, developed and written our individual ideas we pitched it to our group and then pitched it to the class.

Monday 11th Match 2013

From this point we developed and expanded on our final idea this being Daniel and Gifts idea and used elements form ideas of ideas from other group member such as myself and also Hennah. Once we decided that this was our final decision we pitched this idea to the class and received feedback from them. After their feedback we made minor adjustments to the name of our product. When deciding our overcall decision for the product we also included a mind map outlining some of the ideas for the product and also different names for our product which lead to our final decision in what it should be. We also as a group discussed and decided on the slogan for our product.

Thursday 14th March 2013

On this day, our group sat together and discussed information for our synopsis, and we all made sure that we agreed on the same ideas and the way we are going to present our advertising by insuring that we all worked on the synopsis as a group.

Thursday 18th March 2013

On this afternoon, henna produced our questionnaire and as a group we also added some ideas on questions to ask. Myself and gift helped gain the results for the questionnaires and collected the results from individuals. We as a group then started grouping and organising our results on Microsoft excel in order to produce the statistics and graphs required. When the results were generated we as a group looked at our results and Hennah produced her overall report and also decided to do an individual’s analysis on each on from our questionnaire.

Thursday 21st March 2013

As a group we decided to negotiate the cost of the drinks that we will have, the drink size this being to provide both can and bottle. We also looked at the flavours that we can include for our advertisement. From our results from the questionnaire we as a group also confirmed on channel which we will broadcasting our advertisement. In addition to tis we also looked at the time our advert should be shown at.

Monday 25th March 2013

On this day we began looking at our logo and how we want to present the product, this being in terms of the colours used, font and graphics used in order to produce the logo. This allowed us to have a great idea on how to insure that what we used in our product meet the requirements of the target audience we identified. We also made sure that we looked into these areas to insure that the logo produced is made near a professional standard. After creating two designs we finalised the design and made a decision on which logo we wanted to opt towards for our product.

EASTER HOLDIAY

Thursday 18th April 2013

On this day we decided to start recording our advert for the product. We as a group started on the Astro Turf. The weather was good, this being beneficial to our health and safety of our actors and ourselves. After the setup and filming we transferred all the footage on the SD card to the Mac computed. We as a group looked at the videos to insure that no particular scenes were missing or needed to re-film. Hennah once more looked to double check this.

Thursday 25th April 2013

During this session Hennah and I tried to complete any outstanding paperwork, splitting the outstanding work between the two of us so that it would be easier to complete.  Hennah completed the actor profiles, budget plan, risk assessment, synopsis (as a group) and the audience research summary overall till date. Whereas I completed the treatment (with Gift), prop list, locations, storyboard and the casting photographs in addition to this I also did a more focused analysis on each of the questions from our questionnaire results.

Monday 29TH April 2013

On this day me, Hennah and Gift produced a new design for our energy drink because we were not able to find the logo that Daniel had saved in his area and as he was not present this day we could not locate it. Hence instead of wasting time, we created a new and better design for our drink, printed it and stuck it to our bottle. After this Hennah and I completed any other outstanding paperwork left for this unit.

Thursday 2nd May 2013

On this day, we filmed the remainder of our sequence for our advert. However, when we went to record we realised that Daniel had changed his shirt to black and on the previous shoot he wore navy blue hence we recorded the sequences for our TV advert from the beginning again.

On this day Hennah and Gift started to edit the footage we already had and realised that we had to reshoot a certain scene because the actor’s positions were incorrect and they had swapped sides during the filming process. However we edited the scenes we could so that when we had recorded the new scene we could easily edit it and insert it into the timeline.

During this day I was not present however at this stage we were just uploading our work, I got in contact with Hennah and just sent her the tasks she did not have so she could upload her blog and Hennah did the same for me too.

1. Status of upcoming operational Review

Bahno Mirzad passed out copies of the brief stating the initial ideas within the group for each. Individuals within the group were made clear of what we are aiming to and what the unit consisted of us.
2. Discuss initial ideas gathered as a group/ overall decision

Hennah discussed her initial idea to the group, followed by this gift then explained his idea. Bahno also added in her initial idea. Finally Daniel went through his idea. All ideas were explored with both advantages and disadvantages.

The chairperson requested a breakdown of how the group will decide on the overall decision and from this point the group selected to use elements from each idea but have the theme sports based.

Action: To think of how to expand this theme to one main idea.

3. Make adjustments to what is necessary

As a group we discussed any improvements adjustment needed for the discussion within our group. We identified none so we moved onto setting actions for the next meeting.

Actions:                              
  • Hennah - Decide and explore different areas of sports section that we could narrow our overall decision to.
  • Bahno - Look at the advantages and disadvantages of the choices that Hennah has looked into.
  • Gift - Explore on the name that we should have for a sport themed idea
  • Daniel - Think of how the logo within our production should look like after gift provides a name to our group.
